Inclusive Health and Wellbeing at Bevan Healthcare

Bevan Seeking Digital Peer Advocates

Bevan are currently seeking to recruit digital peer advocates to help patients develop digital skills to look after their health and wellbeing. Bevan believe in recruiting people who have had lived experience of some of the issues our patients face and have a growing team of ‘Bevan Buddies’ who help patients in lots of different ways whilst also developing their own skillset and confidence in order to go on into paid employment.

We are currently seeking those who have had experience of serving time in prison or have experienced homelessness in any of its forms including sofa surfing or living in temporary accommodation. We are also seeking people who have had experience of recovering from an addiction to alcohol or other substances and people who have been commercial sex workers. The most recent cohort of volunteers will be fully trained to help patients navigate accessing health and wellbeing care online. Volunteers will join a friendly team and receive:

  • Full training in how to advocate for patients
  • Access to digital packs and training on how to teach others to access digital healthcare
  • Support to find paid employment
  • Reimbursed for expenses
  • Join a friendly and nurturing team
