Tsegazeab’s Career Journey
Looking back on my career journey with Bevan, I’m filled with a deep sense of gratitude and pride. In July 2022, I began my role as a healthcare assistant, initially on just a one-year contract. At that point, I never imagined how quickly and significantly my career would progress. Today, I stand as a lead nurse, having successfully passed my nursing registration exam in the UK, from Ethiopia.
This achievement feels both surreal and fulfilling, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the immense support I received from my manager and the entire Bevan team. From the very beginning, Bevan felt like more than just a workplace – it felt like a community. I was welcomed warmly, and my potential was recognized by those around me. My manager, in particular, played a crucial role in this journey. Not only did they believe in my capabilities, but they also consistently pushed me to pursue my goal of qualifying as a nurse.
Their encouragement was unwavering, whether it was through offering guidance on navigating the complexities of the nursing registration process or simply providing emotional support during moments of doubt. Bevan also offered numerous resources that made this journey easier. The organization ensured that I had access to training, development opportunities, all of which strengthened my skills and built my confidence. Every step of the way, I felt supported – from the healthcare assistant role, where I honed my practical skills, to preparing for the exam that would allow me to practice as a nurse in the UK. But beyond the practical and professional support, Bevan fostered an environment where growth was not only encouraged but expected.
It’s a place where dreams are nurtured, and where anyone willing to work hard and seize opportunities can truly thrive. This culture of growth is what sets Bevan apart as an amazing place to work. Everyone is genuinely invested in each other’s success, creating a workplace that feels collaborative, inspiring, and deeply motivating. Now, as I embrace my new role as a lead nurse, I look forward to continuing my career at Bevan and giving back to the organization that gave me so much. I know that my story is just one of many at Bevan, a place where people are empowered to achieve their best. I’m excited for the future and grateful for the incredible journey I’ve had so far.
