Inclusive Health and Wellbeing at Bevan Healthcare

York Street Development

What’s happening?  Work is currently underway to refurbish our GP practice at York Street in Leeds City Centre.  The work is part of a larger renovation project of the whole building, including St. Annes Resource Centre and the Big Issue Leeds office.  The refurbishment needs to happen for us to offer the best service possible to our patients and a better working environment for our staff and partners who use the building.

When? The work is being carried out in phases and begin in April.  The final phase begins in March 2025 and will take around eight weeks to complete, with the aim to finish by the beginning of May 2025.

Why?  The building needs improvement to allow us to provide the best possible service to our patients.  The newly refurbished practice will give us more space to operate from and create a more welcoming environment for patients, partners and our teams.

What can I expect if I have an appointment?  We will still be open as a GP practice but the way in which we can offer services will be different during this period.  Due to the reduced space available because of the building works, we will be offering a telephone appointment system instead of face-to-face appointments for most patients.  Where we feel face to face is essential, we will ensure we can accommodate this.  We will also be increasing our outreach services during this time.
